Small Retailers

Many of the small retailers also bought up models and stripped them, re-sprayed them in local liveries.  Below is an article which demonstrates this topic. This article is from November 1994 Model Collector.

The Glasgow Model Centre (671 Cathcart Road, Glasgow) offers a range of repainted buses based on EFE models.  We have seen a Leyland National in Strathclyde livery and RT’s in original and later Glasgow Corporation liveries, The latter also featuring a “weathered” look that is most effective.  All are of a high standard , the bodies being blasted down to bare metal, then air-brush painted and polymer coated for a durable finish.

They cost £25 each for the National and weathered RT, though it costs £29. 99 For the original Glasgow Corporation RT which has been produced in a limited edition of 100.  Buses can also be made to order if suitable transfers are available…….Price on application.  For more information write to the company at the above address
